ABOUT ME

Hello, I am Brendan, a counsellor providing counselling in Singapore for teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or are struggling to cope with the demands of daily life.

Many of the people who come to see me are navigating stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or ongoing feelings of exhaustion and overwhelm. Some struggle with focus, motivation, or follow-through, while others feel that life has become increasingly difficult to manage, even when things appear “fine” on the outside.

I aim to provide counselling that feels supportive, respectful, and grounded in your real-life experiences, not abstract or disconnected from your day-to-day life.

My background

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and have experience providing counselling in Singapore across a range of settings, working with teens and adults facing diverse emotional and life challenges.

My work has included supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, trauma, caregiver stress, and challenges related to identity and self-worth.

I also have experience supporting individuals with difficulties around focus, organisation, emotional regulation, and daily functioning. This has shaped my interest in integrating practical, skills-based support alongside emotional and relational work.

In my previous work, I have had exposure to supporting couples and families navigating communication difficulties and conflict, and I continue to support individuals working through relationship and family challenges in their own lives.

My approach

My approach to counselling is collaborative, paced, and practical. I see therapy as a space where we work together to understand what is happening for you, rather than trying to fit you into a fixed label or framework.

Depending on your needs, our work may involve exploring emotions, past experiences, and relational patterns, alongside developing practical strategies to manage overwhelm, improve focus and organisation, and navigate daily demands more effectively.

I aim to create a space that feels thoughtful, non-judgemental, and safe enough for you to explore difficult topics at your own pace. We regularly check in on what feels helpful, so that the work stays relevant and aligned with your goals.

ADHD & Neurodivergence

A significant part of my work involves supporting individuals who experience challenges with focus, motivation, emotional regulation, and managing daily responsibilities.

This may include individuals who are neurodivergent, such as those with ADHD or autism, as well as those who are exploring this possibility.

I am particularly interested in how differences in attention, organisation, and energy impact daily life, work, studies, and relationships. For many people, these challenges can lead to stress, self-criticism, and burnout.

At the same time, you do not need to identify as neurodivergent to work with me. Many clients experience similar difficulties as a result of ongoing stress, life transitions, or increasing demands. My role is to help you make sense of these experiences and find approaches that work for you.
